L’Oréal-UNESCO:
call for applications 2019

L’Oréal-UNESCO: call for applications 2019

For the past five years, the L’Oréal Foundation has selected Agent Majeur to carry out a national communication campaign aimed at female doctoral and post-doctoral researchers. Our objective is to promote the call for applications for the French National Fellowship Programme: L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science. To do so, at Agent Majeur we reached out to our network of research organisations, institutes and universities.

In 2019, this network was enriched with new contacts to increase the scope of the call for applications to include the DOM-TOMs (French overseas territories). This was needed because for the first time, out of the 35 available, 5 fellowships were exclusively reserved for scientists carrying out their research in these regions: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion, Guyane, Nouvelle-Calédonie, Polynésie française…

Since 2007, 230 young women registered at French research institutes have been awarded a fellowship by the L’Oréal Foundation. The fellowships, with a value of 15,000€ for PhD students and 20,000€ for post-doctorates, are dedicated to promoting research in a professional context. Numerous disciplines are eligible: life science, environmental sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics…

For this 13th edition of the program, the candidates were given the deadline of the 14th April to apply using the online platform. The entries will be evaluated by a jury of experts using two main criteria: excellence of the research project and quality of the written application.
