For the past two years, the L’Oréal Foundation has entrusted Agent Majeur with the promotion of the call for applications for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science French Fellowships. These Fellowships are specifically dedicated to women and to scientific research in France. For ten years, they aim to reward and highlight the achievements of young, talented, female researchers at the start of their scientific careers.
In 2015, the project managed by Agent Majeur contributed to 821 applications of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, being recieved. This was 50% more than the previous edition. In 2016, it led to the record-breaking number of 1032 applications! These results confirm the efficiency of the communication strategy adopted by Agent Majeur.
The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowships exist in more than 110 countries in the world. For them to be able to perform a call for applications as fruitful as in France, the L’Oréal Foundation asked Agent Majeur to reveal the secrets of its communication campaign.
Agent Majeur thus wrote and translated a 20-page report in English on the promotion of a call for applications in the context of the L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowships. This report describes step by step the different stages to follow to define a communication strategy and plan tailored to the Fellowships Rules and to the scientific research landscape of the country.
The right questions to ask are listed at each step and the example of France is detailed at length. The report also specifies the time spent by Agent Majeur on each action implemented to set up its communication strategy and complete its campaign successfully. Just enough to inspire the rest of the world!
